Holiday Villas with BBQ in Türkiye
A villa with a BBQ turns dinner into a long evening by the pool. Browse villas with a barbecue or Turkish mangal on the south-west coast and ask the owners directly about charcoal, gas and equipment.

Mangal culture, villa style
In Türkiye the mangal, a charcoal grill, is less a cooking method than a way of getting together. The coals go on in the late afternoon, the table is laid by the pool or in the garden, and köfte, chicken skewers, fresh fish and charred peppers and aubergines keep coming well into the evening. With a BBQ at the villa you do not have to eat out every night, which suits big families and groups of friends and helps the holiday budget. Shopping at the local butcher, market and fishmonger becomes part of the fun.
Charcoal or gas?
Villas usually have a built-in stone or brick barbecue, a portable charcoal mangal or a gas grill. Charcoal gives the classic flavour but takes time to get going; gas is ready in minutes and easier to clean. Ask the owner:
- Is the BBQ charcoal or gas? Is the gas bottle full, and is a first bag of charcoal provided?
- Are there grill racks, tongs, skewers and cleaning tools?
- Is there a dining table, shade and lighting near the grill?
- Is cleaning the BBQ your job or part of the housekeeping?
- Are there any rules on open fires from the owner or the complex?
Regions and season
Garden villas around Fethiye, Ölüdeniz and Göcek and terrace villas with views in Kaş and Kalkan each give barbecue evenings their own atmosphere, and you will find villas with outdoor kitchens around Bodrum and Antalya too. In July and August the countryside is hot and dry: take care on windy days, never leave a fire unattended and make sure the ashes are fully out.
