Villas to Rent in Ölüdeniz
Ölüdeniz is home to the Blue Lagoon, one of the most photographed beaches in Türkiye, with Babadağ mountain rising straight up behind it. Browse villas listed on Villora in and around Ölüdeniz, many with private pools and views over the bay, and contact the owners directly.
The Blue Lagoon and beyond
Ölüdeniz lies about 14 km south of Fethiye, at the point where pine-covered mountains drop into an almost impossibly turquoise sea. The sheltered lagoon, protected as the Ölüdeniz Nature Park, has calm, shallow water that is ideal for children and paddleboarders, while the long pebble sweep of Belcekız beach is lined with cafés, restaurants and sunbeds. Look up on almost any summer day and you will see paragliders spiralling down from Babadağ.
Things to do in Ölüdeniz
- Paragliding from Babadağ, with take-off points at roughly 1,700–1,960 m – one of the best-known tandem flights in Europe
- Boat trips to Butterfly Valley, St Nicholas Island and the nearby coves
- Walking the first stages of the Lycian Way, which starts just above the village
- Swimming and kayaking in the lagoon early in the morning, before the day-trippers arrive
- An easy walk or drive to Kayaköy, the evocative abandoned Greek village
Where the villas are
Most villas sit on the hillsides between Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü and Ovacık, which gives them wide views over the sea or towards Babadağ. Villas lower down are within reach of the beach on foot or by a short dolmuş ride, while those higher up tend to be more private, with bigger gardens and cooler evenings. Expect plenty of modern villas with infinity-edge pools and large terraces, alongside traditional stone-built houses.
Which villa suits you
- Couples and honeymooners: smaller sea-view villas with a private pool and sunset terrace
- Families: larger villas with gated pools and gardens, close to Hisarönü for restaurants and shops
- Privacy seekers: secluded or conservative villas where the pool is screened from neighbours
- Spring and autumn visitors: villas with heated pools, which make April, May and October much more comfortable
Best time to visit
The season runs from May to October. July and August bring hot days of 30–35 °C and sea temperatures of around 26–27 °C, and the beach is at its busiest. June and September are many people's favourites, with warm sea and a more relaxed pace; spring is perfect for walking the Lycian Way.
Getting there
Dalaman Airport (DLM) is about 65 km away, roughly an hour by car. Dolmuş minibuses run frequently between Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü, Ovacık and Fethiye, so you can get by without a car if your villa is near the main road, but a hire car makes day trips to Saklıkent, Kayaköy and Göcek much easier.
A tip before you contact the owner
Check each listing's VillaNo and tourism permit number (Turizm Belge No), and ask the owner about the walk to the beach – many Ölüdeniz villas are on steep hillsides.
