Ortaalan is the hillside directly above central Kalkan, home to many of the village's villas. It combines great harbour views with an easy downhill walk to the old town.

Ortaalan rises directly behind Kalkan's old town, and from its terraces you look down over the rooftops to the harbour and the bay. It is one of the most popular villa areas in Kalkan, thanks to its central position and lovely views.

There is a broad choice of villas here, from compact homes for couples to larger properties for families and groups, many with private pools and sea-view terraces. Because the area is built up, it is worth checking how private the pool is if seclusion is important to you.
Walking distance to restaurants and harbour
The big advantage of Ortaalan is that you can stroll down to the old town, its rooftop restaurants, shops and the harbour without needing a car. The walk back up is steep, so many guests take a taxi home after dinner. Kömürlük beach and the harbour beach clubs are also close by.
Getting there
Dalaman Airport is about 120 km away, roughly 1 hour 45 minutes by car. A hire car is not essential for a stay in Ortaalan, but it is handy for day trips to Kaputaş, Patara or Kaş.
