Villas with a Child-Safe Pool
Travelling with a toddler? Pool safety will be one of your first questions. Every villa here has at least one of a pool fence, a safety barrier or a pool alarm.
What safety features are included?
Villas on this page have at least one of the following:
- Pool fence or safety barrier: a fence around the pool, usually with a gate a small child cannot open. Some are permanent, others are removable mesh fences put up on request.
- Pool alarm: a device that sounds when something or someone enters the water.
No fence or alarm replaces adult supervision. Make sure a responsible adult is always watching when children are near the pool, especially on arrival day while you unpack, and in the busy early evening.
Who are these villas for?
They suit families with toddlers or children who cannot yet swim, grandparents travelling with grandchildren, and larger groups of families sharing a villa. Combined with a shallow children's pool or a walled garden, pool safety makes for a far more relaxed holiday.
Questions to ask the owner
- Does the fence go all the way round the pool, and how high is it?
- Is the gate self-closing and self-latching?
- Is the fence permanent or fitted on request? Will it be up when you arrive?
- When does the alarm sound, and can you hear it from inside the house?
- How deep is the pool, and is there a shallow end?
Regions and trust
You will find villas with pool fences around Fethiye, Kalkan, Kaş, Bodrum and Antalya. On hillside villas, check terrace edges and steps as well. Safety features are declared by owners, so ask for photos. Villora does not take bookings; check the VillaNo and Tourism Permit number and contact the owner directly.
