Villas with a Lift in Türkiye
On a multi-level hillside villa, a lift means you keep the view without the climb. These are villas whose owners have declared an elevator, and you can ask about the details directly.
Why a lift matters here
Along Türkiye's south-west coast, and especially in Kalkan and Kaş, villas are often built into steep hillsides. Parking may be at the top, bedrooms in the middle and the pool at the bottom, which can mean dozens of steps up and down every day. A villa with a lift makes life much easier for older guests, anyone with bad knees, families with pushchairs and groups arriving with heavy suitcases. You will also find lifts in some modern multi-storey villas on the slopes around Bodrum.
Questions to ask the owner
Not every lift serves the house in the same way. Before you decide, check:
- Which floors does the lift reach: parking, bedrooms, pool level, roof terrace?
- Is the cabin big enough for a suitcase, a pushchair or a folding wheelchair?
- Are there still steps between the lift door and the bedrooms or pool?
- What happens in a power cut, and is there a backup or emergency procedure?
- Is it serviced regularly, and can children use it unaccompanied?
A note on accessibility
A lift alone does not make a villa accessible. If someone in your group has reduced mobility, also ask about the bathroom layout, door widths and steps around the pool, and if possible request a short video.
Season and booking safely
Climbing hillside stairs in the summer heat is tiring, so a lift is particularly welcome in July and August. Villora does not take bookings or payments; prices, deposits and house rules are set by the owner. Check the VillaNo and the Tourism Permit number issued under Law 7464, and confirm what you agree in writing.
