Why stay close to the centre?

Every villa on this page has a declared distance to the centre of 1,000 metres or less. That puts shops, bakeries, cafés, the harbour and restaurants within walking distance. It suits couples and groups who like an evening out, guests who would rather not drive after dinner, and anyone hoping to manage without a hire car for at least part of the holiday.

Town by town

  • Kaş: a compact, lively centre around the harbour and old market streets; most nearby villas sit on the slopes above.
  • Kalkan: the old town and harbour are charming but steep, so the walk down is easy and the walk back is a climb.
  • Göcek: the area around the marina is flat and easy on foot, and boat trips leave from the quay.
  • Bodrum: Yalıkavak's marina, Gümbet and other resort centres offer plenty of evening life within walking range.

A word on hills

Kaş and Kalkan are built on hillsides. One kilometre on the map can mean steep lanes or long flights of steps in reality. For older guests, families with pushchairs or anyone with limited mobility, that matters. Ask the owner:

  • How many minutes is the walk, and are there steps or steep sections?
  • Is there a pavement and street lighting at night?
  • Could noise from bars or the harbour reach the villa in the evening?
  • Is there private parking if you do bring a car?

Season and booking

July and August are busy and buzzing; May, June and September give you a calmer town with most places open. Villora does not take bookings. Contact the owner by WhatsApp, phone or email, check the VillaNo and Tourism Permit number on the listing, and confirm everything in writing.

Frequently asked questions

How is walking distance defined?
A villa appears here when the owner's declared distance to the centre is 1,000 metres or less. Ask the owner for the real walking time.
Is it an easy walk in Kalkan and Kaş?
Not always. Both towns are built on slopes, so a short distance can involve steep hills or steps, especially on the way back.
Will I still need a car?
Probably not for evenings, but you may want a car or taxi for beaches, bays and day trips.
How do I book?
Contact the owner directly using the details on the listing. Villora does not take bookings.
