Who are they for?
One-bedroom villas are the natural choice for honeymooners, couples celebrating an anniversary and solo travellers who want a quiet week with a pool to themselves. Being compact, they are easy to keep cool and tidy, and outdoor space is often generous for the size. You will find many of them on the hillsides above Kalkan, around the Çukurbağ Peninsula in Kaş, and in the quieter villages near Fethiye such as Kayaköy, Hisarönü and Islamlar.
What to check in the layout
Not every one-bedroom villa is the same. Before you decide, look closely at the listing and ask the owner:
- Is the bedroom en-suite, or is the bathroom off the living area?
- Is it a true double bed or two singles pushed together?
- If capacity shows 3, is there a sofa bed in the lounge?
- Is the pool screened from neighbouring houses?
- Is there air conditioning in both the bedroom and the living room?
Season tips
Small villas are popular and the best ones go early for July and August. May, June and September are often better for couples: warm sea, calmer roads and easier restaurant tables in Kaş and Kalkan. Prices and availability are set by each owner, so ask about the minimum stay, changeover day and any security deposit before you agree on dates.
