Distance is not the whole story
The distance shown on a listing is usually measured to the nearest point of the sea or beach. Eight hundred metres along a flat promenade is an easy stroll; up a steep hillside, the walk back can be hard work. We recommend asking the owner:
- Is the route to the beach flat or uphill? Are there pavements or steps?
- Is the nearest swimming spot a sandy beach, a pebble beach or a rocky beach club platform?
- Is the beach public, or are sunbeds and umbrellas charged?
- Are there shops, restaurants and a pharmacy nearby?
Beach types by region
The seafront varies a lot along the Turkish Riviera:
- Kalkan and Kaş: few long sandy beaches; you often swim from rocky platforms and beach clubs. Famous beaches such as Kaputaş and Patara are a short drive away.
- Fethiye, Çalış and Ölüdeniz: pebble and sand beaches with shallow, calm bays.
- Bodrum, Gümbet, Yalıkavak and Türkbükü: jetty beaches and beach clubs.
- Antalya, Belek and Side: long, wide sandy beaches with shallow water, great for children.
Why stay near the sea?
An early morning swim, a midday break back at the villa and an evening stroll by the water all become easy. You also rely less on a rental car and parking. Seafront areas can be livelier in high season, though, so ask the owner about noise if peace and quiet is a priority.
Contact and peace of mind
There is no booking on Villora; you reach the owner directly using the contact details on the listing. Clarify the deposit, changeover day and what the price includes. Every listing shows its VillaNo and the Tourism Permit number required under Law 7464.
Season note
The sea is usually warm enough for swimming from early June to the end of October. Villas close to the beach are popular for July and August, so plan ahead.
